Dear sir or madam,

Thank you for contacting me with regards to the above. We are most keen to close this item on our books and although we are willing to pay any lawful debt we owe, our records show that this matter is subject to administritive error, any support you can give would be extremely helpful.

Over the past several months I have contacted all companies who claim to be holding debt to either my self or a member of the family.

When challenged and asked to produce the ORIGINAL documentation (not soft copies) every single company has either

-never contacted me again

-or sold the debt on to a third party. Who then contacts me in a month or two

-or hired a solicitor to stamp the printed soft copy as an original.

I dont know which of those you will attempt, but what I can say is that this is the only letter I will be sending. The next letter will be this one again.

The only verifcation of documents I will accept is:

1. Personally (myself) OR
2. An agent I have comissioned.

Although we are flattered by your attentions, I am not responsible for the administritive errors and failed practices of third parties. I know my rights and I reserve them all. This letter is subject to terms and conditions.

We consider this matter closed, unless the originals are produced for verification.

Thank you for your time and attention, in this non negotiable private matter.

Superb, simple, plain english. No messing.
Do you include the 'terms and conditions ' which you mention?

i never saw this till jus now...ooops

f/s - make them up as you go along, keep a record, number the list....or look at for example at google's http://www.google.co.uk/accounts/TOS t&c's and modify those....na only joking  but have a look at what ones are out there...you could either give them a really short one or 10 pages length... :rotfl: point is I don't send mine out, they're 'private', i just tell them that TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY which I think is fair really.

the best ones are drawn from common sense/law.

Could I ask a dumb question.

I have received from American Express what appears to a valid copy of a contract where my signature is on the doc, would it in your opinion be prudent to demand the actual copy bearing in mind they wont provide it and only show it in court. Sorry but I am desperate and the whole debt issue is driving me insane.
