Wood Alchol as a fuel

Postby WebNinja » Tue Dec 08, 2009 2:35 pm

Hi Folks : )

Was scanning down the forum here and noticed no-one seems to have mentioned woodgrain alchol yet.
We have a lot of trees.... I lost count years back...lol..
... is the effort you would need to put into the process worth the resulting volume of "fuel" ?
Anyone got any idea how much viable fuel can be extracted per ton of green oak , for example?
Which types of tree produce most?

...just a (curious) thought...
..that may spark debate..

They used to run cars on "wood gas" If you've got a log burner, when you turn it down low you get those thick flames that lick about . That's the stuff. Same stuff you're on about?

And the Emperor said "Throw the pedants to the lions!” And the pedants replied “Which kind of lions? There’s two types, you know…”
