how much i realy earn.
how much tax i pay.
look at a pay slip and note the figure before deductions. (me and the wife combined ours)
they take around 23% off us in income tax and national insurance.
Whats left is take home pay, but its not, because the tax doesnt stop there.
so we took off VAT off the take home pay at 17.5% as almost everything is VAT deductable.
Then i took off council tax, car tax per month, petrol tax per month, TV licence fee per month, car insurance tax (about £10 per policy), school dinners.
now you are left with take home pay.
i worked out that we are paying 63% tax to the government. or for every pound you earn with your labour they take 63p.
so if you saw a job at £12000 per year its realy £4400 after tax.
out of this you still need to pay rent, buy food, pay bills before you have any fun money to play with.
I had more money when i was a kid on pocket money.
And if you have debts to pay as well (which is another tax) then you are realy working for nothing.
