Modified Maize Starch ? is this E464. ????

Postby emerald city » Sun Oct 24, 2010 11:54 am

Hi, as everyone knows on this forum, I suffer from additive allergies.

I am trying to find the link between Modified Maize Starch and Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose (E464)
But I cannot find the E number for Mod.Maize Starch. to make the connection. As this ingredient E464 is in everything from food to medication and even supplements, I feel there is a problem. It certainly makes me ill. :puzz: :puzz:
Can anyone shed any light on this.????

Thanks Kliff; but have already accessed that and other pages, cannot find any answer.
Still I will avoid it like the plague, as it knocks me out cold :thinks:

Hi Kliff: Found out -it is in fact; E410.
Lethal to me and some other people. How they "modify" this, know one seems to know. But it causes problems.

Well done for finding this.

Like all other additives "modified" refers not to a process used to modify the ingredient in preparation for adding to other things, but to genetic modification of the maize itself, from which the starch is derived. I.e. all "additives" containing "modified" anything (e.g. "modified wheat protein" etc.) are from GMO crops.

AVOID at all costs.

Hi Freeman_B

I wish I could post the link regarding someone else, who gets knocked out by this stuff, like I do. But I don't know how to get it into FMOTL site. Useless at that sort of thing.

But I have it saved in my e-mail box, to pass onto anyone who wants it.
Basically when eaten MMS, knocks this person out and she feels unwell for days after she "comes round". It literally sends some people into a deep sleep. I can verify this.

Hi All
Modified Maize starch is E 1422 and to suggest modifield means GMO freeman B in this product is incorrect!!!
Also HMPC has no relation to to maize starch the raw material is Cotton Cellulose and it is sythetically made.
