A 'stress-buster' script for inducing hypnosis

This is a little gift for all of you 'out there' on The Land, and it marries with a previous article on hypnosis as a tool for conquering stress. Some of you may wish to record your own voice on a tape recorder, or you may prefer that a trusted friend or beloved talks you into a deeper hypnosis accompanied by some trippy background music (great for couples that wish to 'rekindle the flames' :love: ). Please remember to pace your utterances with your breathing (asthmatics are at an advantage here), and pause for a moment with the ellipses. Should you require any advice as to accessing the 'hidden mind', drop me a line on this forum so that all can benefit from your enquiries.

First ...gently allow your eyelids to close...and with your eyes comfortably closed...you can find that...you can allow your eyelids to remain comfortably closed...and you can start to become aware of your breathing...your chest rising and falling...and ...as you do...the most important thing for you to know is...that you are in control of this process...and you will only go as deeply into this process...as you feel comfortable to go...and...if at any point during this process you need to be fully awake and alert you will be...and...when you have learned how to take yourself into this focused state of awareness...you will be even more in control...as each time you practise...you become more relaxed...and you can trust that part of your mind which already knows how to focus inwardly...to keep you completely safe.

Allow your mind to pay close attention to your breathing...your chest rising and falling...that you no longer need to be aware of your body at all...as you already trust this part of your mind to be awake even when you are asleep...to regulate all those unconscious processes...the things you do not need to be aware of as they happen...and...in a few moment's time...when i teach you how to take yourself into this state...without even being aware that you can do this.

In a few second's time...you will hear me count down from ten to one...and with each descending number...between ten and one...you are going to become one-tenth more relaxed...ten percent more relaxed...with each descending number...each descending number...to help you go...one-tenth deeper...into that wonderful ...focused state of concentration...that in any event...will become deeper and deeper....as we go on...if...while i am counting...you would experience a slight...though very pleasurable...physical sensation...as if you were floating...floating down...that will be fine...it only means that you are drifting...into an ever-deepening state...of physical as well as mental state of relaxation...that will become deeper...and deeper...as we go on.

So, ready...ten...nine...and deeper and deeper...eight...seven...six...drifting down...ever deeper and relaxed...five ...four...three....and deeper and deeper still....two...one....and all the way down...focused and relaxed...the easiest way to learn how to take yourself into a focused state of relaxation...is to first experience this focused state...and i will remain silent for a few moments while you FULLY EXPERIENCE THIS FOCUSED STATE.

And now...i am going to teach you...how you can...all by yourself...enter into this wonderfully relaxed state...all you have to do is...find the time and place where you can...be comfortable...and have a reasonable chance of being undisturbed...you then make yourself comfortable...you can sit or lie down...as long as you are comfortable...you then gently allow your eyelids to close...and with your eyes comfortably closed...you begin...silently and mentally...to count down from ten to one......you count slowly...at the same time as you breathe out...or even at every second out-breath...and with each descending number...between ten and one...you are going to become...one-tenth more relaxed...ten percent more relaxed...with each descending number...each descending number...will help you to...go one-tenth deeper...into a state of focused concentration...and this state of focused concentration...will become deeper and deeper...as you practise...and when you reach number one...you will be as deeply relaxed...in as deep a state of physical relaxation...as you are now...in fact...you might go much deeper...because each time you practise hypnosis...you become more proficient...and each time...you go more deeply relaxed than before...and you can stay in that relaxed state for as long as you like.

Now...to come back into full conscious alertness...all you have to do...is to silently...mentally...count up from one to ten...and with each number...you come a little more...back into full conscious alertness...and by the count of ten...your eyes have opened...and you are back into full conscious alertness...feeling fine...wide awake and fully refreshed...ready to cope better...with anything...anybody...in any situation you have to handle in your daily life...feeling more confident...and a little more optimistic too...that you have ever felt before.

Now...each time you practise your self-induced relaxation...you will find that...as each day goes by...you are going to become...and will remain...a little more mentally calm each day...your mind becomes clearer and clearer...crystal clear...physically...you become more relaxed too...and as a result...you will be able to think more clearly...see things more clearly...so that nothing...and no-one...will ever be able to worry you...or upset you in quite the same way...you will feel more relaxed within yourself...more relaxed about the world around you...it will be perfectly natural...that you will enjoy so much greater self-control...over the way you think...over the way you feel...over the way you do things...and over the way you respond...to any stressful situation...you encounter in your daily life...many of those things....people and situations that once used to stress you...will no longer stress you at all...you will be able to identify...many of those stressful situations over which you have no control...so you stop wasting nervous energy...on those things you cannot change.

And now...i am going to bring you back into full conscious alertness...i am going to count backwards from one to ten...and with each number...you will slowly begin to come back into full conscious alertness...you will open your eyes by the count of ten...and you will feel fine...refreshed...fully wide awake by the count of ten...every part of you will be back here with me in full conscious alertness...by the count of ten...so, ready...one...two...three...coming back to full conscious alerttness...four...five...six...seven...more and more alert now....eight....nine...ten...open your eyes...open your eyes...fully alert now...feeling fine...wide awake and refreshed. :sun:
