this is the TV licence we are talking about and NOT someone's life, the TV licence means NOTHING and in the scheme of things it is just another TAX. If they want it, make em work for it, and THEN, 'only then' tell them to Fuck off and when they get there to FUCK OFF again.

quite often make me stop and question myself. Am I being too difficult? Maybe I should just do what they say?

Then I step back, give myself a slap and remember that a) I'm not alone in wanting to return the favour to these annoyances and b) its just a bit of fun, nobody died, and hey even if theres a slim window of chance to maybe educate one of these guys or at least make them question their own "authority", I'll take it.

I can do no better than to refer you to my own post "TV license success" on the general forum on this site. Don't know yet how to do the link for it but if you search my posts from april two years ago you'll get it.
There are many ways to handle this - mine was just one - and there is no danger in answering the door. Just say "no thanks"and that's it.
Or do what I did, invite him in, drink tea, smoke a roll up and convert him to the cause. In my case the whole family joined and I even visited them all at home several times with Iron Mike, hero of Telford, Destroyer of District Judges and damn good friend.
