BEDROOM TAX PROTEST-CARDIFF & GLASGOW 30th March

Postby MikeThomas » Tue Mar 26, 2013 10:40 am

BEDROOM TAX PROTEST-CARDIFF Saturday 30th March 2013 @ CITY HALL, CARDIFF.

Assemble at 13:00

Tax Spare Homes
not Spare Rooms
4,212 families in Cardiff have been
hit with the Bedroom Tax.
Instead of a mansion tax for the rich, the government is
introducing a bedroom tax for the poor. The policy has been
drawn up by Lord Freud who will not be taxed on his own 11
spare bedrooms, 8 of which are in his spare mansion.

Called by:
Cardiff Against the Bedroom Tax

Supported by:
South Wales Disabled People Against Cuts
De Cymru, Cardiff Homeless Solidarity Campaign

Thanks to Sam Lewis for the info

Thirtieth of March doesn't leave much time for puttting something together.

Any idea how many of the four thousand odd families will be there? All of them should be interested, presumably, but is there time to gather them?

Well fuckin' done, though.

It's still fucked, isn't it?

You're right Musashi, it isn't much time! I only got the info on the 26th when it was posted to me by a friend in Cardiff.
And.... there doesn't seem to any other mention of it around here :thinks:

If the machine of government is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law.

The people of Glasgow are not taking this lying down. I expect there will be a lot of angry people on Saturday

i expect the angry people will be coopted into supporting impotent labour party platitudes of controlled opposition. im planning to go so long as its not scorching and making all my stuff here at risk of theft - wish i had some people on the land with me.

definitely not going to the glasgow green rally point though - a victorious army reaches the battlefield first and awaits the enemy - sun tsu (its more pertinent in the physical as the abstract) - hey im not advocating the use of swords in this "battle" incase their are cops out there ready to write their last will and testament as thousands of people pour into the town in democratic protest against the recently introduced hunger games.

just in case you are a cop - call a sickie would you - you are holding the physical stick over these people being told to eat cake.
