Haha - can't quite hear you ladies........what was that you said? :puzz:

I think I might bring my unregistered, taxed or MOT'd private conveyance through the border next month - ought to be fun! Need to get my paperwork in order first though.

Some info regarding Police 'pursuits'

In Hants, the Police (roads traffic unit) have an absolute NO PURSUIT property. As soon as they have ascertained the 'details of the car' (make, no. plate, colour) the standing instruction is to turn off the blue lights and fall waaaaay back - usually calling in the helo. to keep a track on the vehicle.

In sheffield, however (South Yorks) they have a very active pursuit policy - and it seems to be the primary aim of every traffic cop - to pick up on a 'failed to stop' and to chase them to the end... TPAC (the method they use to physically box in and stop vehicles) is a very common event, and they appeared to have many more TPAC qualified officers than, certainly, Hants.

No Police vehicle may exceed the local speed limit UNLESS using blues and twos, the use of blues and twos has to be 'justified' (I believe by the individual Police driver) on every occasion. Police vehicles must ahdere to all road markings etc. until they are using lights/sirens. They cannot drive through red lights, except when on a lights/sirens 'shout' - where they are to treat red traffic lights as 'give way' signs.

And...... in Carmarthenshire, to the best of my belief, policy is: when using blues and twos aim for any/all other road users with the intent of killing them outright ( that way they can't not possibly "get in the way" on future calls) policy does dictate that NO consequence shall occur as a result of this action as ALL officers in related areas automatically receive impunity on the condition that they carry out a full disguising / removal / destruction / cover-up etc of all materials facts and evidence upon arrival at the scene.
