Reasons for FMOTL Board of Forums Closure.

The FMOTL Board of Forums is now permanently closed.

(Except, it has been decided, to those with a proven ability to treat the facilities with the necessary responsibility)

It is understood that many people have lodged their own work on this Board. Applications for individual access, so as to recover or resume such works, will be considered on an individual basis. It should not be hard to work out an e-mail address for Veronica. After all, everyone relevant has had a Registration reply.

It may be considered, by some, that this is an "elitist" attitude on Veronica's part. If that is the case, then those who do so, are always free to start up their own DOUBLE-THINK Board (AND SEE HOW FAR -THEY- GET).

The reasons for this action are as follows:

1. FMOTL never was, and never purported to be, a substitute for your own thinking processes. Veronica herself never purported to be a Global Agony Aunt. For these reasons, any dependence on either was thoroughly misplaced.

2. It became abundantly clear that what was happening was that FMOTL became a replacement, in people's minds, for the Citizen's Advice Bureau ... a sort of "Freeman CAB". This was never the case, in fact. It further became apparent that it was considered a dumping ground for utter irrelevancies, and questions stemming from the fact that many could not be bothered to read what had previously been written and thoroughly discussed.

3. After due consideration from all angles, this Board of Forums has been made available once again, but generally this is only to READ. No further registrations will be accepted, and all Forums will be LOCKED ... thus no further Postings will be possible, except by Moderators. Thus no-one will be deprived of the facilities for information-gathering and further GENUINE research.

4. This, possibly in conjunction with Veronica's book as a starting point, should be quite sufficient for anyone to grasp the Freeman Principles, and to work out the rest for themselves. If you can't do that, then you shouldn't be attempting to do anything "the Freeman Way".

5. However, as far as any "general activity" is concerned, the Board is closed, and will remain closed. Quite simply because there appears to be little point in re-opening it.
