... I DO tend to "put my money where my mouth is".

When I moved out of the Hersham area ... to Hanworth ... I registered in a Local Surgery in Hampton Hill.

I went to see them ONCE ... when I'd caught a Chest Infection while driving buses.

Eventually I ended up working at Sainsbury's, and my doctor came through my checkout one day. I said hello, and she said "I have to tell you I'm not your doctor any more. I'm having another baby, and giving up practice". I said OK.

Working at Sainsbury's I met my friend Viv. She was registered with a Surgery much nearer to where I was now living. So I asked her ... next time she went to the Surgery ... to ask about me registering there.

She told me: "They said OK ... but you have to go in for a 'medical'".

I thought: "WTF??????????????".

So I didn't bother.

About this time I was becoming aware of all the Big Pharma SHYTE and learning about Homeopathy.

So I was beginning to be glad I didn't bother.

A couple of years went by, and - over a Christmas Period - the phone rang.

It was the Surgery.

A woman told me that I hadn't been for the medical, and that they'd cancel me if I didn't turn up.

I said: "Oh wonderful ... yes please cancel me!"

She said: "But ... then you won't have a doctor"

I said: "Brilliant! Thanks very much! Goodbye" ... and hung up.

Since then I've never had a doctor.

(I don't know ... I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I'm not even sure I care. I'm out of Big Pharma's hands, and that's good enough for me)
