(The most wonderful thing about this, is that Germans - generally -
find it impossible to pronounce "s" as "ess" ... but pronounce it as
"th" ... on the other hand pronounce "th" as "zz"!
Nevertheless, it appears that there is far more subtlety in the
German language, which can sometimes make it actually impossible to
translate - PROPERLY - into English.
I once had a German friend who - bless him - used to pronounce
"customer" as "cuthmaner". Since my German was almost negligible,
and his English was extensive and perfectly understandable, I never
had to heart to correct him)
