MERS = Mortgage Electronic Registration System
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortgage_Electronic_Registration_Systems

A high-level Judge in the US has ruled that MERS is totally illegal (as well as, obviously, unlawful):

Which means that Banks/Building Societies have no right to foreclose.

We are still working on what this may mean to the UK. It seems that, in the US, there may be no equivalent to our Land Registry (or there may be ... still trying to find out).

All foreclosure claims in the UK are based on "Is the Bank/Building Society's name on the Charge at the Land Registry ... if so, then they can have what they want".

The fly-in-the-ointment here is that the Land Registry accepted the Charge Registration when the Bank/Building Society had no right to make it ... known as the "Registration Gap argument" ... which is under Appeal in 5 Cases at the moment.

It looks as though the US might be leading the way here ... although we are right behind ...

(I look forward, with glee, to the day when EVERYONE can raise an Index Finger to these bastards, who have kept us in Slavery for for too long ... especially with their hired thugs, happy to do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR5GqLIfV0E CRIMINAL CRIMINAL CRIMINAL CRIMINAL ... THEY'RE ALL A BUNCH OF BRAINWASHED FUCKING CRIMINALS!!)

Did you ever think that "Things didn't seem right"? Well ... now you know.
